SAVE AHMED AND HIS FAMILY FROM GAZA

25,000 $ TO GET OUT OF GAZA TO EGYPT

Ahmed is a young man who is a member of GFB and suffers from LGMD2E Track Dystrophy.
On May 12, his home in the Gaza Strip was destroyed by Israeli shelling and his grandfather was hit and died.
Ahmed and his family want to get out of Gaza and escape to Egypt, where his grandmother has already moved.
GFB is organizing the fundraiser to help Ahmed escape.

- Friday, November 7: TGR Lombardia broadcasts an update on Ahmed's case from the Policlinico Hospital in Milan, where Professor Yvan Torrente explains the boy's medical situation in detail.

- Sunday, September 28: The Omnibus program on LA7 broadcasts a report on Ahmed's case and the GFB Foundation.

- Tuesday, September 23: Ahmed's father is slightly injured by a drone. Tenth payment of $10,000

- Tuesday, September 16: Communications with Ahmed's family are interrupted due to a lack of internet connection. Israeli tanks enter Gaza. The family now travels several kilometers to find a connection.

- Saturday, September 13: Twelve houses around Ahmed's home are bombed and destroyed.

- Sunday, September 14: The Farnesina Crisis Unit responds, saying they will take the report into due consideration, but are awaiting approval of the priority from the WHO. Ninth payment: $2,000.

- Saturday, September 6: A plane flies over Ahmed's neighborhood and drops leaflets urging immediate evacuation to the southern Gaza Strip.

- September 3, 2025: The family sends us the complete medical certificate for the WHO.

- August 16, 2025: The GFB Foundation attempts to contact Minister Locatelli for Ahmed.

- August 21, 2025: Ahmed sends us the neurologist's certificate. Eighth payment to Gaza: $2,000.

- August 17, 2025: Ahmed undergoes a malnutrition test and cardiac assessment at a medical clinic. Seventh payment: $2,000.

- July 18, 2025: CONTACT WITH THE WORLD HEALTH ORGANIZATION IN GAZA; an updated medical certificate is requested for Ahmed's health corridor. Sixth contribution: $2,000.

- July 10, 2025: GFB WhatsApp video call with the Red Cross in Gaza

- July 8, 2025: The GFB Foundation meets with the SOS Red Cross Morbegno chapter

- July 3, 2025: The fifth contribution of $2,000 was sent to buy food on the black market. Fifth contribution: $2,000.

- June 16, 2025: The fourth contribution of $2,000 was sent; it may be enough to provide food for a week. The family is still in Gaza; they haven't had food for three months; they're starving. Fourth contribution: $2,000.

30 September: Ahmed's family is still stranded in Gaza awaiting the reopening of the southern passage to Egypt

- 9 August, 2024: Three days ago another Israeli bombing hit the family and the uncle was injured and taken to the hospital. The bombed house can still be fixed up and used as a home. Ahmed has lost 30 kg due to a lack of food (only bread can be bought) and is waiting for more supplies.

31 July , 2024: Ahmed is now breathing well and has managed to overcome his respiratory crisis, but his diet is still inadequate of only bread. He now weighs 28 kg. Food no longer arrives from Caritas, as they have been bombed.

- 22 July 2024: Ahmed is ill and struggling to breathe, unfortunately there are no doctors or active hospitals in the area.

12 July 2024: GFB sends another $2,000, which will help Ahmed's family with rent and other necessities.

- 10 July 2024: after two days of walking, the family reaches some acquaintances, who give them a place to live.

8 July 2024: Ahmed's family is displaced from their rented shelter due to the continuous and violent bombings in the area. Now they wander aimlessly in search of a new shelter. Another boy in Gaza, ALHAJ, with Duchenne dystrophy, has a similar situation to Ahmed. All the people in the area are displaced and fleeing.

- Wednesday 3 July 2024: Caritas delivers the food parcel, will have to return to bring some spare parts for Ahmed's wheelchair.

The photograph shows the two Caritas volunteers with Ahmed and his father on the side. The house where they took refuge is small and the rent is $2,000 a month. It is on the third floor. The living conditions are very difficult, there is no electricity to charge the pram, there are insects everywhere, pollution, malnutrition...

- Saturday 29 June 2024: Caritas is supposed to come from Ahmed to Gaza to deliver a food parcel, but there is heavy shelling in the area and the delivery is postponed.

- 26th June 2024: Ahmed's family is still stranded in Gaza, food is lacking and the whole family is malnourished and thin. Ahmed is struggling because he has stopped rehabilitation treatment for his condition. GFB asks CARITAS section of Bergamo for help.

- 18th June 2024 GFB receives donations of € 2,120 or $2,276 / $25,000
Ahmed's family is waiting for the reopening of the humanitarian channel from Rafat and is still stranded in Gaza

- 3rd June, 2024 GFB receives donations of €1,790 = $1,943 out of $25,000

- 2nd June, 2024 Israeli tanks enter Rafat and close the exits of refugees from the Gaza strip. Ahmed's family is waiting for the humanitarian channel to reopen.

- Fundraising to leave Gaza towards Egypt starts on May 20th

- May 12, 2024 Ahmed's house in Gaza is bombed and destroyed
